Yesterday is past.
Today is present,
Create tomorrow,
by sharing your stories.
I am made from immigrants.
I am the great-granddaughter of a rickshaw driver and farmers.
I am from a storytelling nai-nai and my großvater a German-educated engineer.
I am from a pou-pou and wai-gong, the gentlest pair of husband-wife doctors you could ever imagine. He widowed her far too soon.
I am an alchemy of art and science, the daughter of a chemist/calligrapher ma-ma and a painter/architect/jack-of-all-trades ba-ba.
I am also a mother, girlfriend, sister, auntie, treehugger, rock climber, artist, voracious fiction reader, and high school art teacher.
As an arts educator, Cinti Tuan (she/her) builds classroom culture based on real-world connections, care, and giving students the agency to tell their own multi-faceted stories.
An accomplished, award-winning designer, I teach CTE Design Foundations and Foundations of Photography classes at McDaniel High School (9-12).
